Both bibs are different, the one in the pic
Is not a copy of the metal bibs used in the
other Merlins,
it is a different shape,
(different action, different depth) ?
Mine was made by Mr J,Bennett back
in 1991, he was trying something different !!
Eyes on top too !!!!

JB sent me the one that Fizza has got , about the same time, 1990-91.

I never saw another one before or afterwards. But they could be out there.

Brett ,

Did John write the date on your lure when you got it from him recently ? Or was it on there when he made it ?

I had heaps of Johns proto-types , and trial lures back then that he use to send me. All sorts of messages on them , dates , depth action ETC Etc.... but only written on un-painted lure bodies , never painted ones.

In recent times John signed and dated a few lures under the finishing clear.
In the early days, he only signed them over the top. Easily rubbed off.
There might be more out there ? I never knew there were two ? So maybe there are more ?
