A Couple of Hex Shaft Bamboo's

One is in a leather case (not perfect for sure...but not rotted away)...and has one emblem just above the handle that says "Silkien Pat'd Oct 26 1897"...and a "star" logo with the words "trade mark" just above.

I found on the Internet that this rod is a "Chubb Silkien". It was given to my grandfather (who was a resident of Frontenac Minnesota for most of his life) by the Garrard family...who basically founded the town.

He passed back in '86....but prior to that he had told me that he had been offered $1500 for it. Can't say that's true or not. Rod has been out of the case 4 times since '86. Not perfect...but cleanable for sure.

3 piece rod with extra tip....all pieces roughly 39 inches long....hexagon blank.

2nd rod is in an aluminum tube....3 sections....each roughly 37.5"....also hexagon blank. Only ID on it says "Flash"

Here's links to some pics are on my Photobucket acct. If you click on the links (or copy and paste)...ALL you will see is each pic...and not all the other adverts & Javascripts that PB is running.
