Old H-I Split Cane 3 pc 'Spinner'

Post by MXB » Tue Sep 01, 2009 9:58 am

Hi all . . .

Here's an old split cane fly rod from what looks like the 1950's marked H-I 'Spinner' Utica, New York.

It's a 3 piece model with spare tip as all good fly rods should have and in the early days of fly rods most outfits were supplied with a spare tip. I notice the modern trend in new generation rods is to now supply spare tips with most rods. Makes sense really as they break/snap so easy.

This rod is in very nice condition and has been used but still looks near new. Came with old rod sock with 4 sections for each piece. Unfortunately all the information on the label has since gone missing/worn/faded.

Post up your old fly fishing rods;
