King Codder Lures - Anyone got info???

Hi all . . .

I've been trying to find information on Australian made 'King Codder' lures; where they were made, model names etc.

I was talking to fishaholics a while back and he believed there were up to 5 models/sizes (correct me if I've got that wrong Brad)

Any info or photos of King Codder lures much appreciated

I can remember using the largest one when I was a kid. The poplular model was coloured the same as a redfin. It was jointed and had a flappy red tail off the back. Very shallow runner. I'll ring my brother down south and see if he knows where there is one.

LENGTH OF 18 CM INCLUDING TAIL.
Length 85mm approx.
Body of lure measures 11cm long
Measures approx 135mm across both body sections

these were the lengths given in various auction listings, some with and without ruler.

Brother in Victoria doesn't have one. He thinks our big brother has it up here. I'll have to visit his shed soon and have a poke around. Never know what I might find.

Here's mine - with no red tail bit but remnants of something on the rear treble.

DK Union Tackle Co made the King Codders but there were up to a dozen metal DK lures available around the

60s and 70s.Two which spring straight to mind are Redfin Bobber and Krazy Boy.

Guys,
I picked one up here in Darwin years ago in a junk shop, the large 18cm model with red plastic tag on rear treble.
Someone must have brought it up to fish for barra, I'd say it would work good too, as it's solid allround, have never seen another
since until on here.
