Woomra
Woomra
I was looking at a few lures tonight (like every night really)and i came across this pair of Brett Campbells. One has Woomra written on it and the other has Prototype which it looks like Brett may have wrote over an existing name. There is a distinct similarity in shape an size but whether the Woomra was born out of this Prototype i have no idea.Maybe one of our few hardcore Campbell collectors can shine a bit of light on this not so common model.

Re: Woomra
Couple of nice lures Mike and in excellent condition.

Re: Woomra
Did the Woomra then develop into the Woomera?

Re: Woomra
Spoke to Brett about these .... neither were production models and neither is a Woomera, in fact Brett believes Woomra should never have been written on the second lure
Brett remembers making the prototype in 1987 but the design never evolved into a standard part of Brett's range. The second one is a one-off made in the early 90's, but is not a Woomera
Hope that helps ....

Re: Woomra
Rob,
Next time you speak with Brett, can you asking him if he's branching out into the barra lure arena.
Reason I ask is, while purchasing that new tackle box yesterday, noticed hanging over the counter a new looking lure shape.
While yaking to George, I checked it out, was about 150mm long, narrow scorpion style shape, with B.Campbell hand-written one side and I think it said Stinger on the other.
Large metal diving bib (would get down for trolling deep in rivers), when I asked George, he said it was a prototype for evaluation by his guys, sent to him.
I didn't ask George to elaborate, as he was getting busy in the shop at the time, would be interested to know.
Regards, Tony (Wulagi, NT).

Re: Woomra
@Brolly
they are your lures so you are welcome to do what you like with them.
If you are at a loss with what to do with them I might be able to find a spare spot for them in one of my display postpacks just to help you out.

Mate, Brett is always experimenting with his designs and always has Prototypes that he is constantly evaluating - if he's not happy with it, it won't go into final production !!!
I do have a number, including Barra lure prototypes, but unfortunately I can't post photo's as yet to protect his designs - I will however ask about the Stinger for you

Cheers Rob
