Pics from fishing trip east

Post by jimmymate » Sun Aug 29, 2010 10:24 pm

Just looking through a few old photos and thought I would share. These were caught on my last outing to Mallacoota and further north, all be it a while ago. Great fishery.

Thanks guys.

I hooked her on 6lb fishing for bream. I was slowly twitching a lightly weighted squidgy flick bait when i saw the big girl lift from the shallow sandy bottom and start to follow the lure. I just about had kittens. Let it sink and whamo. Luckily the hook pinned neatly into the top lip and the line was clear of her wraspy teeth. Several lizards of the same size and one that i would comfortable call for larger spooked during the fight as I was carted back and forth across the flats. Went back the next day on the same tide to try and get some of her friends but no luck.

That's not a lizard, it's a crocodile! Well done, love the colouration.
