I use a cordless drill to twist my eyelets. You need a rivert bent at 90degress then a pair of pliers and off ya go can crack out a few when sitting in front of the tv on a nite. You can use stainless steel leader wire or you can use stainless tig wire from a welding supply shop.

??? ??? ???

Hi guys I was looking at your old posts and just wanted to ask what type is cheaper the "tig wire" or "leader wire" ??

Or is there any other ideas from others on the forum ???

Thanks Rick

Rick i only use MIG wire i'm not sure of the TIG what the difference is....The MIG wire i use is .9 Stainless but be sure do get the one thats has not got the flux infused into it as it snaps easily...i twist it the same way as you but i just use a cup hook in my drill....

Thanks Snaf

And I seen a post on here with that cup hook in the drill, going to bend one up today
I appreciate all the help on this site guys saves time and money getting set up.
I have not made a lure yet but I think im getting hooked more than the fish.
And thanks for the size of the wire.
Not many shops here so the help here saves heaps of running around.

Thanks again Rick

I'm using 1m lengths of rigid stainless welding wire 1,0mm dia. , available in a local outlet of a big German company located in a neighbor village , .......the one on coils is somewhat softer and thinner , but OK for smaller lures up to 5cm .

Might check out in here as well , ....but remember, stainless and possibly without any flux core is essential :

Here is the Australian site of that above mentioned German company , .......maybe you could ask there , too(if they would even deal with "small" customers lol )

Cheers ,.......good luck , ..... diemai howdy
