I started when i was 14

Post by DalbyKayakin » Mon Jan 09, 2012 5:43 pm

These are the early Red Cedar BUNYIPS i made when i was 14 the next year i caught a 9kg (but i like the term 20 pound) Barramundi on the bottom right one near Darwin at a place called Shady Camp. Note that I've never had a spraygun or worried too much about what other people thought of the paintjob, Ive never sold my lures. I just like catching fish

These are some BUNYIPS that were made shortly after once my dad bought me a urethane mold kit and the fun started. I've now caught plenty of yellowbelly on them in dams, creeks and rivers around where i live. Yellowbelly are the most common caught fish in my area

Some assorted lures. some were dipped in paint some were sprayed, i really don't think the fish mind on the finished paint product, I think they are more interested in the action and the overall colour and size

This lures was the other one to make it to the mold. Yeah yeah i know what it looks like, but im proud of it and I called it the fish-tailer. Murray cod and yellas have been the fish willing enough to take these lures. The latest 2 being a half pound yella yestaerday and a 19 pound cod yesterday both caught by my old man in his kayak on a $35 kids rod and reel combo with 12 pound mono

This one is my favourite Coolmunda dam lure (apart from the poltergeist 50) catching yellas when they aren't on the bite
