Ist crack at Timbers

Ok started some timbers the other week,a couple of mates gave me some blanks to get me started but i have done the rest...put the carving lines on then carved the timber with my leatherman,sanded,hardware and undercoat..next is the paint which i will be using spray cans and trying to work out colours and patterns...heres a couple of pics so far...

@ SNAFU

Great selection of different shapes thumbsupsmilie , ....obviously being a newbie on lure carving , you'll learn great deal on how lures of certain shape and different bib sizes and angles would perform in the end .

Might have to put ballast into one or the other(I would do this prior to painting) , but I'm sure , they're all gonna be OK , ...nice bunch indeed thumbsupsmilie !

Thanks for the comments guys...got to get down and wet and dry today and to put some colours on...got 2 of them up to putting the clear on but haven't purchased any as yet but they are ready..the rest just have basic colours on but still deciding on what patterns to put on,paint is from spray cans,there coming along....

I'm just at about the same stage with a bunch of lures down my workshop , ........progressively causing me headaches about what kinda patterns to apply , ........would it turn out a proven catcher or a dud , .....questions after questions lol !

..............hope you'd have a better clue than me thumbsupsmilie !

Ok i finally got around to finishing off my first batch of lures,been busy with work...went on a cruise over xmas so finished them off this week....only done with spray cans so not the best of paint jobs and not leary patterns but i'm happy with my first batch....they all have been swam in my pool and swim well...now to put some hooks on and try them out on our scaley friends

Dieter i have swum them in my pool with the split rings and hooks on mate...they swim well...just haven't put them back on as yet...
