Colour thoughts/test.

Post by Barney » Thu Jan 17, 2013 7:17 am

Couple of days ago l went for a quick fish with my 'field tester'
Testing some lures painted without any RED on them at all. Little baitfish colours.
I have put RED on just about every lure Ive ever made. So l wanted to see what happened with lures with no Red.

Launched 5am. My mate graciously gave me the lead and l had first shot at every snag for the first hour. l caught one small bass 25cm on lure #1.
Got a couple of nudges on lures #2 & #3. l fished the 'plain' lures hard.

During this time mate caught 3 bass on a green/gold scale/red belly lure.

2nd hour we fished snag for snag , l changed back to an older lure with RED/black/gold and got 5bass. Mate caught another 5 bass.

We both decided bass like RED somewhere on a lure. Old habits die hard :)

Paint one the same as old one without red head, then fish against the old one, you may be surprised...Nev

Very very hard to tell from the pics, but they look very EPish to me.... Not that they're anything to sneeze at, they're just as good to me!

Nice looking lures too
