Rio's Lures

This is one of a few lure Rio made to cast for Trevally and Barra. I don't think it was ever named.

And this is one of his Poppers. Both of these were made with a polystyrene body covered in soft silicon. The same as his Live Fish range.

Yes, the Rio Prawns are still being made. Available in most good tackle shops up here. Rio lives near Tewantin. The prawns make a pretty good bass lure as well. There are quite a few copies around these days, but none measure up to the original.

I picked up one of the GIANT Rio's prawns in one of the discount bins at the MO tackle shop when I was in Coffs Harbour. Laurie has posted on this before - at 150 grams - THAT is a prawn!!!

I don't think Rio still makes these. I've got about 3 of the poppers, and only one of the minnows. I use them for Bass quite regularly, and they produce fish.
