Portrait- 'Blinky' Blenkinsop

Post by Marrakai » Thu Jun 24, 2010 10:55 pm

Hopefully this post will inspire Blinky to toss-up a decent photo of himself at the work-bench, because the only one I could find of him in print is postage-stamp size!

Here is a recent article from 'North Australian Fishing & Outdoors' magazine.
Hopefully the editors won't mind its reproduction here for research purposes-
especially if we give the magazine a good plug!

Should have part two of this article around here somewhere, will toss it up when it comes to hand.

Thanks Marrakai, didn't see this, I have one Blinky identical to the top right one in the main pic.
Thought it was a metal bib, until reading this, now I realize it's painted lexan, very interesting.
Think I acquired it from Warren at his Katherine Rod & Rifle, makes sense, but can't remember how long ago, must have been at least 20yrs.
Hand signed Blinky on the belly.

Tony:
I don't have any of Blinky's lures myself, but I always have a weather eye out!

Here is Part 2 of the "Blinky's Lures" article, for your enjoyment!

At Mully's request I have made it larger so the text is easier to read.
Hope that helps.

Marrakai, thanks that about fits the time I picked one up at Warren De Withs shop. Don't remember there being too many available,
infact could have been the last one on the peg, got lucky there. I'll keep my eyes peeled, if I find another it's yours.
Regards, Tony (Wulagi, NT).
