Mick,
Do you make lures?...Are they any good?
But in all seriousness, your flies are the same quality as your lures. 11/10!
Top work fella.
Leigh.

Strewth - I can already picture the boof! How do you find using the fly rod in a kayak?

Today's the day! The sun is shining, the tank is clean and we are getting out of here!!!
Re: Bassin's gone Flyblown
I dont know about anyone else...but the hardest thing for me to get used was actually sitting down while casting. Having been in the boat when using the flyrod in the past, its amazing how different it is when sitting down.

Re: Bassin's gone Flyblown
it's easy Leigh
go sit on the front or back lawn! with the top half of the flyrod only, dont forget to put the line throught it, and practice practice practice
remember try to do a steple type back cast

i find it very easy, been doing it for about 20odd years
just got to remember to keep your backcast nice and high
just told leigh (LOOMIS) what to do, just read what i told him, its all about practice

Re: Bassin's gone Flyblown
You've summed it up in one sentence . . . high backcast is the trick. No sloppy lazy casting from the kayak/canoe. Another thing is to keep your flyline from tangling on stuff in the canoe and practice. Using a shorter fly rod helps too. I prefer an 8-8 1/2 ft rod and a quality reel with a proper drag so you can fight from the reel. The reality is you are not looking to do massive casts from a kayak/canoe so there shouldn't be fly line lying around everywhere anyway.BASSIN wrote:Stevo
