New to flie's fishing

cww Hi guy it's been awhile

I'm going to start flie-fishing for bream,as a beginner
whot flie's should i be bying,i'e crabs,shrimps and baitfish pattern's.
I am getting a 6# rod and reel combo ,backing, fly line,shoud i get
saltwater line,and whot is the best taper line for bream. howdy

Welcome to the world of fly fishing clapclap

Bream take flies readily from all depths and will take surface lures too. Start with some lightly weighted clousers and crazy charlies and either bounce the bottom or fish mid depth. Also try small epoxy flies that resemble shrimp/prawn/baitfish. My tip is to have a fly that incorporates orange into the tie as this seems to be a trigger for bream.

As for your fly line that will be your decision based on whether you decide to fish the top (Floating line -WF - Weight forward). Remember you can't fish the top of the water with a sinking line which is why I always say start with a floating line. If you are going to exclusively fish at depth I would consider an intermediate line or a sink tip that bombs the fly down.

Thats the best advice I can give except for learning to tie your own . . . that way you can have whatever fly you want thumbsupsmilie

also is their a good book on tying saltwater flie's.

I'm so looking foword's to tying and catching fish on my own flie's -hmmthink
