Rare Heddon "Pop eye Frog" NIP

Hi all . . .

Here's one that is very cool . . . the Heddon 'Popeye Frog' 85YF (Yellow Frog) in very early Heddon cellophane top box and with a really interesting weed guard;

Roger,
That same style of weed guard was used on later Heddon No-Snag River Runts , the diamond shaped wire superceded the earlier metal plate style. The No Snag Runts disapeared from the catalogues in 1949 after a 8 year run. The Daisy Heddon, Div of Victor Comptometer box in that style dates from the early 50's, so I guess it makes sense that they would use left over parts to add to other lures.

Nice Popeye, but you need to find Olive and Brutus to complete the set.....yech yech yech
