Look what I found in the bottom of my tackle box...

Post by samlovesfish » Tue Oct 04, 2011 10:30 pm

Not sure when or where I aquired this one, however I'm kinda happy I found it :)

Thought I'd share a pic and ask if anyone knows something about it.

@ samlovefish

Kinda funny , just found one on a Hamburg fleamarket last Sunday as well !
PIC_0012-1.JPG
These weight-forward spinners were made in France and called "Voblex" , they've been around for decades , guess that they don't make them anymore , .........more info in here :

http://lureandmore.com/viewtopic.php?f=371&t=4035

Used my own fleamarket "Voblex" in a pond on Monday , a nice trout came after it , but would not grab it , since it saw me standing on the bank , I guess , ..........pretty much surprized that these spinners do work very nice with that head of plastic(still spin on the drop and do not twist the line) , on the earlier models it was made of genuine caoutchouc(gum rubber) I was told .

...............but sorry , I do not have any head to spare lol !

@ samlovesfish

........always welcome , Sam howdy !

@ rivermandave

.........wonder whay many fishermen obviously have the tendency to behead their spinners ??? lol !

That one marked "AIRE" does not fit into the line to me , Dave , ....I was curious and googled that term , ...... one river each in England and France do bear that name , ......also a few towns and villages in France and Switzerland .

It looks a bit like a "Flying Condom" to me with it's plastic or rubber tubing attached , thus I reckon that it may be of British origin , ....but this is just an absolute shot in the dark of mine -duh lol !

@ samlovesfish

Sorry , Sam , ....I'm glad about having made you laugh , but what is the joke ?

Is it about the beheaded spinners or the "Flying Condom"(some shy folks also call it the "Flying C" )?

Here is one :
