Billfish

Post by simon bruce » Thu Aug 27, 2009 7:16 pm

Talking lures to the Owner, Bluey and guide Colin, and Colin mentions meeting Terry when he used to drop lures off to a tackle store in Cairns that Colin was working at. Colin mentions a billfish lure he got off Terry, one of 10 that got made for the store and produces it.

I took some photos for posterity, it got swum on the trip but fortunately I didn't have to put up with seeing it get taken.

Anyway heres some photos of a different Leads that is still getting swum today. I think as much to wind me up as anything. A nice skipping surface action.

Simon:
That Leads is very reminiscent of the Cordell 'Bluestriper' in shape, and probably action too.
Bet that's where he got the idea from. Great-looking lure.

Bluestriper thread here.

It is a likeness, size is a lot bigger but the idea seems similar. Very splashy action in the water.

Here it is against a bibless and a minnow.
