Deception nudes are as rare as ducks nuts .... well, here is a tray of of some very rare and stunning Deception nudes - all are different thumbsupsmilie

If there is enough interest shown I'll pull some close up pics of some of the very special lures in this tray .... a couple of these are especially treasured and made available to me by site members who clearly understand my addiction lol bowsmilie

Here is one of the very special Deception nudes made by Paul Kneller from QLD Silky Oak. I believe it is about 12 years old now and is one of a kind.

It was only through the generosity of a site member that it came into my possession and for that, I am truely thankful bowsmilie

I'll quote Paul from 2008 "I only ever built a few batches of the Deception Sardinops. I made it primarily for a trip to the Northern Territory. It was so successful on the Barra my mates talked me into making some more. A 100 or so were made. Frank Prokop so loved this lure that he made it the first lure on the inside of his last excellent "lures in depth book". This is a one off never used shallow Sardinops (Mullet) made from Queensland Silky Oak."

This lure has a mesmerising 3D effect that my picture can barely do justice to and has twisted eyelets which was not the standard Sardinops construction .... a worthy lure in the 'Deception Hall of Fame'

The fiddleback in the grain sure made a difference mate.
Or is it something else ???

Albert, it's all in the grain and the clearcoat - hard to describe, seems 3 dimensional and translucent at the same time.

Never quite seen anything like the depth of finish thumbsupsmilie

French polished a silky oak sideboard once.
The top had some nice fiddleback in it.
The more you rubbed it the better it became.
And looking at it from different angles gives one the perception of depth and variations in the grain.

very nice lure mate thumbsupsmilie thumbsupsmilie

That little baby does have a great texture in the grain clapclap

We have a dining room suite in Silky Oak, I just wish it had a fraction of the character that Rob`s lure has. -duh
