Albert AKA.... Dirk...

Very old for sure. Those colours were the first of the "nilsy " colours I tried to copy.

I would say really late 80's. I would not be taking too much of a guess to say 89.

A very similar coloured one was featured in an Alex Julius Barra story in Fishing World magazine. I have a copy of the mag and story back in my cave. The photo is of the lure and a nice Barra caught in Corroboree billabong. The angler was a much younger George Vokolous of Fishing & Outdoor fame. Brings back nice memories of the timber lure era.

Now..... Where did you get it ? It is a real find !

Well Dirk ,

I had no doubt about the age...... But if I needed convincing , you have done it !

Jamie had access to my lures ( always with my permission ) from a very young age. He would have had the best all round collection of mine and most other New England lure makers , if it had not been disapated over the past 5 or 6 years. He is and was entitled to do what he wanted and what he did with his collection , his chose.

But had they all been together now..... They would have been museum quality and quantity.

Anyway , the lure has ended up in good hands mate.
