Murakami Whale-Bone Jigs

Picked these delightful examples off the web some time ago.
Seller advertised them as "wood" and priced them low but I knew right away they were whale-bone.

Regardless of your stance on Japanese whaling in the Southern Ocean, you will be forced to concede that the workmanship on these tuna lures is truly marvelous!
For strength, a reinforcing brass plate is inserted into a neat slot cut into the front of the lure, and pinned before carefully fairing the edge of the plate with the curve of the lure-body.
