Tulsa Fishing Tackle Company - Stunter DB

Post by MXB » Mon Sep 21, 2009 5:00 pm

Hi all . . .

Here's an old wooden rarity that was around in the 1950's to compete with the Heddon lures. The 'Stunter DB' with Tulsa deep diving bib, made in Oklahoma USA. I posted all the details on the insert and this one is in the correctly marked box and is in the colour pattern 'Moccasin' . . . sounds a bit like the modern stupid paint colours for houses etc!! lol lol

Good looking lure and really like the feathered rear treble and the paint job is quite retro for the times. Obviously 'runt style' and looking very much like a Heddon Go Deeper River Runt;

The Tulsa lures are very nice and very collectible.

The Moccasin colour would be named after the water moccasin, a poisonous snake found in the southern inland areas of the US.

Thank you Frank . . . that would explain the strange name and the tight scale pattern. I learn something new every day with lures!! bowsmilie
