Storm/Rapala Trivia

There seems to be a lot of contention regarding Storm lures since the Rapala takeover. Many say the Storm lures are very different for the worse yet in actual fact when you compare the "original Storm lures" to the "Original Series Storm Lures" there is basically no difference except for some colours & under bib writing on earlier lures which later "original series" are missing.

Rapala actually acquired the original Storm moulds which are/were still being used along with the exact same material to produce both Original & Original Series lures. Therefore any misconception of swimming, casting or fish catching abilities is merely that, a misconception.

The yellow boxed lures are a different story however.

And for Rapala it was certainly a D'oh moment when they tried to improve the design of the Hot'n'Tot.

Still the colour range is one of the amazing thing about the Oklahoma Storm lures that makes them so much fun. The Hot'n'Tot is still a favourite of mine along with the Wiggle Wart for bass and the Magnum Wart for goldens/cod!

I agree Frank, and so it seems do all the US Bass fishermen lol
Hot n Tots, and Wiggle Warts had a resurgence back about 6 months, and they were going for amazing prices, even out of packaging. Apparently the 'new' plastic bib on the Hot n Tots, makes them swim like a paralytic dog turd crazysmilie
Typical yanks though, always trying to re invent the wheel just to cater for the 'marketing guru's'...
maybe they should listen to John (Golden mike) Laws.....when you are on a good thing..stick to it
