A couple of early Jitterbugs

Hi all . . .

I thought these deserved a new thread as they have no patents marked on bibs and one has early hardware that probably dates to the early 1950's;

Late reply MXB, apologies, but I have started to fill a few gaps in my Jitterbug line-up recently-
eg now have 3 WWII plastic-bibs, red and yellow (one is timber), timber Musky, flyrod, etc, etc...
however the early-hardware model you posted here is still my enduring favourite!

I've tossed it up before but here it is again, similar to yours but for the frog-pattern and no brass tow-point,
and perhaps a little battle-scarred compared with the fine examples above...

Love these things! Image

@Marrakai . . .

Great lures to collect these ones . . . you are very lucky to own a wooden one as they were not made in cedar for very long. The plastic lipped ones are also not that common although they do pop up on occasions. I've got a few more arriving soon including a froggy one like yours with the same hardware.

Thanks for the appreciation . . . the lure you like is indeed one of my favourites too thumbsupsmilie

@Rivermandave . . .

Would love to see them as they deserve a thread on their own. Noticed a wooden one went recently for about $US200 in pearl which I don't think was an early catalogued colour . . . one day I'll find one!!

Hi all . . .

I thought this one deserves to be shown in this thread.

A nice perchy colour pattern with older hardware and no patent lip;
