My Killalures

Post by DaveZ » Wed Jun 23, 2010 9:21 pm

Hi guys,

A few familiar faces around here would have seen these before, but this is my small collection of Killalures. Always on the lookout for new additions if anyone has any.

Cheers,

Dave, welcome to the site and a very nice collection of Killalures I'm envious, especially that tiger patterned 3" barrabait.
Caught my biggest barra on a 3" barrabait back in 1990, on the black/silver scale pattern, similar to one you have.
You may see it stuck in the picture-frame, top left corner.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I received a couple more Killalures today and am waiting on a few more to arrive, so will get some more pics up next week some time.

That is a nice picture and an excellent way to display a special lure.

Dave.

Guys, the artist is a popular Victorian fish painter named Trevor Hawkins, this was done in 1994 a watercolour on parchment.
All you had to do was send him a photo of your fish and it's dimensions, along with where you caught, on what lure and line etc.
He used to advertise in Fishing World or Modern Fishing, can't remember which one, he must be still doing it because I've seen several of his works lately in mags. he paint the fish full sized.
Think he is very much in demand now, so his prices would be a bit dearer than 20yrs. ago, when I paid $300.
