Gritters??

Post by vince. » Sat May 31, 2014 9:47 am

In the mid 90`s Rob Gaden painted some lures for Jaysea.

These would be from one of those batches.

Rob found them recently & sent them onto me. Thanks mate thumbsupsmilie

I have not seen them before, don`t know what Warren Nicholson called them, but they are certainly made from one of Keith Baker`s shapes.

35mm body, 40mm total & a nice piece of Jaysea & Keith Baker history.

Baz,

Made by Rob Bennett, was in Forster. Don`t know if he still is. Beno/s lures

I was looking for something that was big enough to show how tiny these little fellas are, & he was the first one handy.

The Johnny O`Keefe of lures.

Do you remember seeing them on the market Baz. I`ve lived a sheltered life, so it`s no surprise that I haven`t seen them -duh

I think I have a faint recollection of them being in a local (Mudgee) tackle store back in the early-mid 90's. I spent a fair bit of time in there ogling the lures, knives, rods and reels. They used to stock plenty of Jaysea critters including the Crays that were designed by Keith. Patriots and Gremlins were also there.

I found the Wild One name on a FB page, a bloke was looking to sell some Jayseas and had the correct names for the other models he was selling, so I assume he was correct with the Wild One. 2nd hand info I know , but it could be right.

Brains and monuments Vince....a couple of rough heads (one way rougher then the other) from a world class fishing team taught me that saying.
