Super Duper Lures

Post by Marrakai » Sun Oct 04, 2009 5:34 pm

The Super Duper lures were part of the Wonder Lures range, although they never actually had "Wonder Lures" stamped on the actual spinners.
They were advertised amid the line-up of other Wonder Lures by J.M.Gillies in the 1960s and '70s, as if from the same manufacturer.
They also bear the Patent (or Patent Use) Number 20025.

This raises questions over their origin, at least in my mind.
Anyone here know who actually made them?

They are an obvious copy of the South Bend 'Super Duper' from the States, although apparently not made by them.
And of course, South Bend may have copied someone else's original design....

Is there a story here?
