Personal best peacock bass

Post by zac08 » Sat Mar 31, 2012 4:21 am

I caught this 50cm peacock bass recently on a Kozo spin 12.

This is how the lure looks like on a smaller fish

and frankly I do not know which category this lure should fall into, a jig, a spin jig or ??? ???

Anyway, this was a fun catch for me on 6lb braid. Hoping to catch a bigger one the next time. yay

Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught...

Have seen these fish in tanks at the Bangkok weekend market. Some quite large, beautifully marked, they also look very agressive. What river system in South America did you catch these in? Your avatar doesn't say where you hale from.

I'm from Singapore.

Somehow, someone apparently released these fishes in our reservoirs years ago. They have since gotten a foothold in quite a few of them and multiplied tremendously. Some of them have grown to sizes which were only found in South America as well... quite a good thing for us since we don't have to fly there to catch these beauties. thumbsupsmilie
