When I fish with them I call out my count down to my fishing partner.
This helps me know where the snags are if anyone hits them, plus if you get a hook up you will know how deep the fish are.
Then again no snags no fish.

Haven't used them but I would think that taking the hooks off for the first cast, count down as suggested in one of the early posts till hit bottom. Put hooks back on and count down one or two counts less might work.

Not good for prospecting but if you were working a specific structure vertically would be the go.

Try swapping the doubles around so the point rides upward vext to the body, will cut down snagups

doubles would be the way to go or try the barbarians with the turned in points also a slightly better option...I have snagged so many but am pretty lucky as a few bow and arrow flicks usually release them other options is to use lighter hooks and straighten them for a return but as with cod also no snaggs no fish -duh
