Electric Motor - Bottom Tracking ???

Post by Lure-Nut » Mon Aug 23, 2010 12:16 pm

Does anyone have any information on a 24v bow mount electric that has a bottom tracking feature i.e troll around a dam at a constant water depth or shore distance .... originally Pinpoint had this technology, but I think MotorGuide have it as well, but damned if i can find the information on available models, be they local or US ???

Any help approciated thumbsupsmilie

The Motor Guide PTV on my Stratos had the feature but never worked properly. I went with an Auto-pilot. From memory the MG would follow a set depth, follow a set distance from shore and follow the deepest water. The new Minn Kota Ipilot will allow you to save a track and follow it, sit on one spot no matter what the wind and current do and it has a go to facility so it will go directly to a saved mark. The guys I know who have them are very impressed.

The Terova with iPilot is the bomb.

Jordan swapped it with his dad for an RT55. His dad lost out!
